When you first started your website or online business, I’m sure you heard a lot about SEO, or search engine optimization. If you choose to use them, make sure the quality is good, and they are relevant for your site.

Mobile Optimization

People are viewing websites on their mobile phones more and more. Google has developed their Accelerated Mobile Pages Project (AMP), which introduces a new standard for mobile web content. Video doesn’t just need to look good on a smaller screen; your site also needs to work well, and offer customers the same fantastic user experience as the PC versions. Rich Snippets

Snippets, or rich data, are information that can directly answer a search question and be displayed on Google, with a link to your site, as the answer to a question. For example, show stock levels and prices of products, and these will show up in the search results. Rich snippets have been around for a while; even Pinterest now prominently features rich pins. But with Google constantly adding to the list of information it looks for and includes, they are becoming more widely used as we move into 2017.

Voice Search

Voice search is increasing in popularity, as AI systems become better. Gone are the days when voice recognition software struggled to understand different accents. It’s now much easier to use, and much more effective. When searching with text, we might just type the words we want; with voice search it’s much more likely to be phrased as a question.

Blogging is massive. There are so many blogs out there, with some people managing to make a full-time income from their blogs. These bloggers build very loyal followings. Their influence matters, people listen to them. If you want your product to be found, get a blogger to recommend it.

Speed

Up to 40% of users will leave your site if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. We live in an impatient world, if it isn’t instant, it’s too slow. Speed is said to be a big factor when it comes to determining your Google page rank.
